Our client is an international group specialised in the development and production of a wide variety of components, equipment and custom made products for the Railway industry. Headquartered in Europe their operations in the APAC region is quickly growing and they are now looing for an International Sales Manager to support and maximize this growth.

GOAL OF THE JOB
Sales Manager responsible for the sales of company’s railway products in Asia. Define market need for the products and create platform for successful sales activities. Drive sales and manage the distribution and agents in the Asian region in such a way that the company’s growth goals are achieved.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS AND DUTIES
1. General - You will report to GM S&M and in his absence to CEO. - Organize and responsible for all relevant reporting. - Present sales plans and budgets per country. - Keep product/application know how up to date (in-company training).. - Perform all acts, duties and obligations and comply with such orders as designated by the company and which are reasonably consistent with the job title.
2. Sales - Maintain contact and strengthen relation ship with existing customers. Find new customers and create new business. Close deals with customers. - Makes quotations and handle orders (see competence). - Contribute to Asia business plan and makes sales plan per country/activity. - Makes budget proposals and realizes approved plans, sales budgets and margins. - Initiate and maintain contact with the company factories. - Organize local sales/technical support from company as required by customers. - Leads and assists regional sales reps, distributors and agents. - Strategic sales/market policy issues to be discussed with GM S&M and approved by CEO.
3. Marketing - Investigate market and detects trends and specific market/customer needs. - Analyze competitors and follow their performance. - Advice how to manage product portfolio in the region. - Advice marketing strategies per country/activity. - Takes initiative to develop new products and assists in making product plans. - Coordinates in marketing communication activity per country/activity such as - exhibitions, seminars, product promotions/introductions…etc. - Assists in developing product datasheets, leaflets, website…etc. - Takes initiative to start sales promotion. - Assists in translation of correspondence in Chinese if necessary.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS

Skills / Traits - Very sales driven (natural sales talent, “nose” for the business) - High energy level - Sets high personal standards and goals to always be “the best” – natural drive for success - Self motivated person / used to work stand alone - Fluent in English (Cantonese, Mandarin and / or other Asian language is a plus) - Excellent communicator in writing and verbal (English and Chinese). - Willing to travel >50%. - Systematic and organized. - Skilful with PC and software.
Education - University-level in technical discipline. BSc or Master. - Several commercial trainings
Experience - Minimum 5 years of Sales experience in railway or related industry with proven track record - Multinational exposure and Asia–Pacific experience - Experience in sales to technical customers (engineers, purchasers) in a B2B environment - (age around 30-35 years)
