The Ministry of Transport and Communications will organise the GCC Metro and Rail Conference 2014 in Muscat on September 15 and 16, 2014.
This conference is the first of its kind whereby the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states come together in an effort to create strong manufacturing and services industries around the massive investments in rail and metro projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The conference will also establish the vision towards a sustainable development of the GCC economies and diversification efforts.
The conference will spell out the potential manufacturing, service and training opportunities available to investors and the private sector, including small and medium enterprises.
It will discuss the challenges and obstacles that stand in front of private sector active participation in the rail sector and consequently the development of policies and plans to overcome these barriers and stimulate the participation of the private sector.
