MUSCAT - The 'Rail Projects GCC Summit 2014', conceptualised by Nispana Innovative Platforms, will be held on August 20-21 in Muscat to address the issues facing the rail sector across the GCC region. The summit, themed 'Connecting Oman to the GCC region,' will be attended by government stakeholders and professionals.
The two-day forum will address the latest project developments and opportunities, as well as in-country value initiatives across the sultanate's rail sector. The forum will also review regional and global best practices for ensuring the successful delivery of capital expenditure projects, as well as promoting local manufacturing, services and talent development in Oman.
The summit will aspire to give an insight into the various reports formulated worldwide by some of the finest rail experts, discussing the latest technologies to be incorporated to streamline all upcoming rail projects across Oman, according to a press release posted on the Zawya website.
The upcoming railway projects will open up significant employment opportunities across the sultanate, with the government looking to educate the local populace to operate the railway network.
Some of the issues that will be discussed are delivering track renewals, signalling, electrification and power, telecommunications, professional services, training and integrated rail system solutions for Oman.
